Adult Swim Lessons

Let’s Swim!

Our adult swim lessons provide a place for swimmers to learn how to swim in a friendly small-group setting. Students come from all walks of life—from young parents to high school students to retirees. In your swim lesson you will learn:

  • How to tread and float in the water
  • Proper breathing techniques
  • Key swimming strokes (front crawl, backstroke, etc.)
  • Safety and rescue skills
  • Proper conditioning and personal fitness habits

Beginner

For adults who have not had any swimming lessons, or who may be fearful of the water. These swimmers cannot swim independently on their back. For ages 13 and older.

Main Skills Taught: Working on comfort with the face in the water, being submerged, front and back float, kicking movements, introduction to treading water, and introduction to front and back-crawl.

Things to know:

  • The ratio for this class is 5:1
  • Cancellation Policy: All swim lessons are non-refundable once the session has started.
  • If participant is absent from a class there is no rescheduling or make-up lesson.
  • Come ready to swim with swim attire and a towel to dry off.
  • Registration for the following month is opened 2 weeks prior to the start date.
  • All lessons are 25 minutes in water instruction and instructors take the last 5 minutes of the 30 minutes to discuss progress
  • We reserve the right to reassign the swim instructor.
  • Special request for instructor’s gender and or gender identity are not guaranteed.

What to expect on the 1st day:

  • Arrive with sufficient time to be dressed and ready for class.
  • Once you are ready for class head over to the pool which is located at the back of the facility
  • If you are early to your class on the first day of class, instructors will call roll. Once instructors have called out roll call they will head over to the area of the pool where they will be teaching the class.
  • If you did not hear your name called please ask a staff for assistance.
  • After the 1st day of class it is the expectation that the parent/participant will walk over to where the class is being held.
