How do I get on the team?

Things to Expect

• We are a competing team that competes in the YMCA Swim League.

• We will soon be a sanctioned USA Swim Team.

• We expect a minimum of 80% attendance to practice.

• There is an annual swim season registration fee of $55.00.

What do my fee’s cover?

• Fee’s are for the entire month whether they got more practice’s one month or less practice’s on another month.

• Non-Refundable once the month’s session has started.

• Your annual swim season registration fee covers

  • YMCA League enrollment fee

  • Team Cap

*Bonus: If your child qualifies for Y League Champs they will get a free team shirt.

Marlin’s Swim Team Try Out!

When registering for swim team try out you will be issued a scheduling credit, You will use this scheduling credit to schedule your child’s try out.

*Please note that by enrolling in the try out you have to use the scheduling credit to confirm a try out. When you schedule your try out you will receive a separate email with the time and date confirmation of your try out. 

• Please confirm your try out time and date by checking your Schedule Calendar on your YMCA Account or by calling the front desk at 714.879.9622.

• Try Out Breakdown (This breakdown will determine what level your child qualifies for.

  • 25 yards if Butterfly, Breaststroke, Backstroke, Freestyle

  • Freestyle Flip Turn

  • Dive

This swim team is about creating a community of swimmers that want to further their own goals in the pool.  This will be a competition team that will go to swim meets and compete against other teams.  It is not required for you to compete. If you just want the structure of a workout that’s ok.   We will work on technique, endurance, strength, turns, dives thru a various types of workout structures. The workout should be fun but challenging and the coach will be there to help you along the way.
